The range of shooting and tactical techniques being advocated today, as well as the instructional methods used to teach them, vary to such a degree that it is impossible for all of them to be anywhere near equally effective. How do you find out which actually work and which don't, both from a tactical and legal perspective? Who better to provide an in-depth analysis of the various techniques and the legal consequences that follow, than someone having been involved in over a dozen handgun encounters or in numerous high profile shooting related court cases. Chuck Taylor and Massad Ayoob are two of the country's most articulate and experienced instructors and while they don't always see eye to eye, they are masters at cutting through the B.S.

Although part of this four day workshop will be spent in the classroom, most of the instruction will be hands-on and will range from numerous shooting techniques and their tactical application, to weapon retention, close range responses (under 2 meters), transition to back-up weapons, pre-programming legal decisions, and much, much more including an evening Q & A session with both instructors. As the curriculum has some flexibility, additional or alternate subject matter can be added or substituted to better to fill the needs of the attendees on the condition that it is requested by March 1st.

While the course is suitable for students of a variety of skill levels, an understanding of basic weapon handling and firearms safety is a must. Equipment requirements are minimal - firearm, belt mounted holster, spare ammunition carrier, eye & ear protection, etc. Class size is limited and a non-refundable deposit of $300 is required to enroll. On rare occasions it is possible to loose one of the instructors on short notice.
